On May 23rd, Penn Sustainability co-sponsored the second in a series of Cigarette Butt Cleanups on Penn's campus (the first cleanup took place on Earth Day, April 22). Volunteers armed with gloves and trash bags were assigned to different sections of campus, and each group used an iPhone app called Rubbish to identify areas not in compliance with Penn's tobacco-free campus policy. Two more cleanups will take place on June 20th at 12 pm outside Irvine Auditorium, and July 18th at 12 pm outside the Franklin Building.
