Did you know that Penn's vast urban campus is a vibrant home to many wild animals and plants? Discover how you can help support the incredible wildlife right in UPenn's backyard through a variety of wildlife-focused groups, all here to share their passion and knowledge! Whether you're interested in beekeeping, birdwatching, creating native habitats, or conducting wildlife research, there's a world of learning awaiting you. And don't forget to share what you discover by adding your pledge to our "What Can YOU Do to Protect Philly Wildlife?" board. This event is a wonderful opportunity to bring together the Penn community—both people and wildlife—in support of a meaningful cause.

Our event will feature:

Penn Vet's Wildlife Futures Program: A wildlife health program providing health surveillance, diagnostics, and research, with projects aiding wild birds and mammals across the state!

Penn Vet's Accessing Urban Nature Initiative: A project collaborating with multiple partners across the Greater Philadelphia region to install camera traps in urban areas, recording the vast amount of diverse wildlife residing in the city!

James G. Kaskey Memorial Park: Home of the Biopond and the Biology Greenhouse, the stewards of Kaskey Park maintain a peaceful natural ecosystem that is enjoyed by wildlife and humans alike.

Bird-Friendly Penn: Penn's campus is located along the Atlantic Flyway, making it an important stopover spot for birds during migration. The Bird-Friendly Initiative seeks to reduce bird strikes and building collisions through the implementation of bird-friendly building design and campus outreach.

Penn Beekeeping Club: A student-run group that fosters an appreciation for the ecological importance of the honeybee. They keep bees on campus, and will have (contained) bees at the event!

Quackers Bird Club at Penn: A fun, chill group of Penn students who enjoy birding and showing others the beauty of birds!
