FAQs

All University of Pennsylvania Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to participate in ESAC. In some cases, students or other members of the Penn community may be invited to join a
specific subcommittee. As the Penn Sustainability Office (PSO) maintains a current membership list, all prospective members must reach out to the PSO at sustainability@upenn.edu to declare their intent to participate in a specific subcommittee.

Membership on subcommittees does not require a formal nomination process. In order to participate, interested members should contact the PSO at sustainability@upenn.edu. Co-Chairs and subcommittee members are welcome to make recommendations to the PSO about potential new members. The PSO may then encourage the recommended Penn faculty, staff, or
student to participate.

Participation in ESAC subcommittees can be rewarding and engaging. Members benefit from participation in some of the following ways:
- Learn from other groups across campus about their latest sustainability-related initiatives
- Represent your school or center by providing feedback on campus-wide goals
- Actively participate in implementing improvements that contribute to the success of our institution
- Build relationships with a group of cross-disciplinary members
- Gain experience and knowledge about sustainability-related topic
